[New Feature] Parallax Walkthrough Transitions How To Create Lifelike Virtual Tours With 360º Photos

Hey there!

Welcome back to our blog at Cloudpano.com. We have a brand new feature that we’re excited to announce and we think it’s going to be in high demand. My name is Zach Calhoon and I am the co-founder of Cloudpano.com. For those of you who may not be familiar with us, we are a 360 virtual tour software platform. You can use our platform to create virtual tours, sell products, create great experiences, and have fun. We are excited to partner with you in the long term for your virtual tour business or any other business entity you may be bringing our way.

So, what is this new feature? It’s called parallax transitions and it’s been highly requested. I’ll show you what it looks like right now. In this example, I’m in a living room. If I want to feel like I’m walking through the space, I can click the parallax transitions button and it will zoom into the space and take me to the bedroom. If I click back on the living room, it will do the same thing. The same goes for the den. This transition creates a 360 photo and a virtual tour that feels like you’re walking through the space.

There are a few important elements to keep in mind when using this feature.

First, the software knows where the hotspot is located. So, if I’m facing over towards the table and click towards the bedroom, the parallax will jump me in that direction. It’s also important to note that the initial view is based on the initial view that you set.

Finally, we recently implemented a navigation setting called “natural view navigation” which allows you to set a north point for the virtual tour. This helps orient all of the photos in the same direction and allows you to use the parallax transition to create a walk-through feel that is really powerful.

We’ve pulled up an example of a natural movement virtual tour of a house with the parallax transition enabled so you can see for yourself how it works. We hope you enjoy this new feature and we can’t wait to see what you create with it. As always, if you have any questions or feedback, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Thanks for reading and happy creating!
